The Office of Deacon is primarily a spiritual office and the spiritual level of a church will depend to a large extent upon the life and conduct and church activity of the men on the Board. The Deacons will be the prime movers to keep a high spiritual atmosphere in all ministries of the church.

The Deaconess are chosen in much the same way as Deacons, and for the same reasons. Visitation , especially in homes where the call of a Deacon might prove embarrassing is the chief task of the Deaconess.

The Trustees will endeavor to maintain or improve the property which has been given into their care. They will arrange for all minor repairs to the building or buildings and advise the church when a major repair seems to preserve the value or the real estate.

The BTU has the responsibility of training all church members and giving general training to potential leaders of the church. Its primary concern is training church members to perform the functions of their churches.

The heart of the Brotherhood ministry has always been Missions and Missionary education. Thus, in recent years it has turned more to its original objectives, so that now it carries the responsibility for Mission Education for boys, young men and men.

The Christian Education Ministry is a group of men and women selected by the church for the purpose of unifying all of the Christian Education efforts of the local church. It is logical that this board should select the basic materials to be used by teachers and other leaders in the education program.

The purpose of this ministry is to teach, encourage and support divorced members through the Word of God, helping them to understand that there is life after divorce thru a biblical perspective.

The purpose of this ministry is for providing missionary education for girls, young women, and adult women. From its beginning until the present, the General Mission has not changed its major objectives and program responsibilities: to promote Christian Missions through mission study, prayer, stewardship, and community missions.

The primary mission of this ministry is to provide immediate medical attention to members who become ill during church programs and activities. The ministry also provide the congregation with information to help promote better health and to encourage a change in health behavior.

The purpose of the junior Women Ministry is to help young women develop Christian maturity and to promote spiritual growth.

The primary purpose of this ministry is to maintain the church’s bibles, hymnals and literature. It also prints the church directory and presents the Black History program.

The purpose of the Marriage Ministry is to encourage all husbands and wives to be the Spirit-filled mate that the Lord would have them to be.

The Music Ministry exists for every person in the church. It should improve music in all the church organizations and worship services, and should lead every member of the church and its organizations to understand the appropriateness, the meaning, and the significance of church music.

The purpose of the Prayer Room Ministry is to help the pastor, the Deacons, and the members with special prayer. Also, they are to pray for all men everywhere.

The Prison Ministry corresponds with incarcerated individuals encouraging and inviting them to a personal relationship with Christ.

It is a permanent organization, meeting each Sunday and conducting its work regularly each week. The textbook of the Sunday School is the Bible. It is the value and importance of the content of the Bible which should motivate each Sunday School Teacher to reach people to study it.

The purpose of this ministry is to assist young mothers with their special problems and to encourage them to solve their problems with Divine Wisdom.

The purpose, mission and goal of the Women Intermediate Ministry is to minister, witness, lead and direct people to Christ. The focal point is toward women of the ages of 35-55 years old.

The goal of the ministry is to encourage youth to finish school and get a degree. The ministry sponsors the Graduation/Achievement Day program, and provides a scholarship fund.

One of the holiest privileges of the Christian church is to help dedicate our children to the service of Christ, and to help them find their place in the will of God in whatever vocation they may follow. Also, the youth Ministry is to teach our children what Christ means to them, discuss problems in the light of Christ example and teaching, and present the claim of Christ to be Lord of all one’s life.
